About Us
WHO WE ARE:
Joyce celebrates the essence of coastal Southern cuisine by blending the flavors of the coastal south with soul food classics. We create a dining experience rooted in tradition and elevated with a modern approach. Our menu has an emphasis on seafood with an exceptional raw bar, featuring a variety of small and large plates designed for sharing. To complement the menu, we offer a curated wine list and a zero-landfill cocktail program, combining thoughtful hospitality with a commitment to sustainability. We invite our guests to dine in the spirit of a traditional Southern table where friends, family and community gather.
WHERE WE ARE:
We are located in the Financial District, steps from LA Live, the Los Angeles Convention Center, The Broad Museum, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Surrounded by residential towers, corporate offices, and hotels, Joyce is a convenient destination for both locals and visitors exploring DTLA.
We offer indoor dining, a covered and heated patio, and a welcoming atmosphere suited for everything from casual dinners to group dining and private events.
Founded by the Rileys, the restaurant is inspired by Prince’s mother, Brenda "Joyce," who grew up in the South and introduced him to the art of hospitality at a young age. Her influence lives on in the warmth, generosity, and sense of community that define the Joyce experience today.
After more than 15 years in restaurant operations, Prince and his family saw an opportunity during the pandemic to bring their vision to life in the heart of DTLA. What began as a dream has grown into a destination for Southern cuisine in Downtown Los Angeles.
Joyce is a proud family-operated, black-owned restaurant rooted in community. We are committed to creating a space where guests feel welcomed, celebrated, and connected, while also supporting and collaborating with other local businesses throughout Los Angeles.
